Professor Pang Daiwen’s team publishes in Nature Protocols: Developing a technology to track single viruses based on quantum dots in living cells
Source: Time:2025-02

Recently, Professor Pang Daiwen’s team at Nankai University published a research paper titled “Single-virus tracking with quantum dots in live cells” in the Nature Protocols journal. This study, taking the virus that has been systematically studied before as an example, provides a detailed operational procedure for the implementation of QSVT. It describes the specific steps of conducting QSVT experiments in live cells, including virus preparation, QD labeling strategy, imaging methods, image processing, and data analysis. The experimental process from the preparation of virus and cell specimens to image acquisition takes 1-2 weeks, and image processing and data analysis take 1 day. This technology is applicable to a wide range of situations that require studying the dynamic mechanism of virus infection, and the currently developed strategies and tools may promote the development in the field of virus prevention and vaccine development.
